As a child growing up, I wasn't your typical hairstylist that had always had an interest in the cosmetology industry.

In fact, I was the complete opposite.

As senior year crept up, I had no idea what I wanted to study or have a career in. I don't think many of us really do, to be honest. However, I had gone to my hairstylist (a former employee and instructor here at Ladies & Gentleman and the Brown Aveda institute) to get my hair done for senior pictures. That's when she enlightened me on the program at the Brown Aveda Institute, so I took a leap of faith and went for it.

I had so much support from my family and friends, whom I wouldn't be where I am today without. Everything from orientation at school to interning at Ladies & Gentleman and seeing the professional and family like atmosphere, I knew I wanted to be surrounded by those people. I knew that there was success to be made in this salon.

I observed each stylist I assisted and saw their unique talent and personality each one offered. The clients also expressed their love for the salon and how each stylist made them feel great. Not to mention the amazing Aveda mission and background on the Aveda products. Those are just a few of the many reasons I knew I wanted to be part of such a respected salon.
There is something unexplainable about meeting people and hearing different stories of people's lives that keeps your soul full. I truly believe everyone comes into your life for a reason and I enjoy meeting new people and hearing those stories. It is a very rewarding feeling to give someone time for themselves to relax and feel beautiful. It's not about being something you aren't but more so about discovering yourself and your talents that you can bring to the world.

I feel so blessed to be part of the family here at Ladies & Gentleman and have the guidance from such respectable role models.
