Since 1975, Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa founders Ed and Nancy Brown have prioritized customer service and relationships as the foundation of their beauty business.

Their salon and academic operations serve and nurture a network of award-winning stylists and salon professionals who are dedicated to delivering the very best of the beauty industry through education, competition, and community service. 

The Ladies & Gentlemen family includes over 250 employees working at salon and spa locations in Mentor and Legacy Village, Ohio, Brown Aveda Institutes in Mentor and Strongsville, Ohio, and Casal Aveda Institute in Niles, Ohio.

Our mission at Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa is to conduct our business based on our principles.

Since 1975, when Ladies & Gentlemen was a tiny space with 3 staff members, we thought of changing the world of beauty by building a staff of people who work as a team.

The people who were staff members then are still with us today. These loyal staff members have been mentors to a countless number of fledgling stylists.

Many of the new assistants started with our company immediately after graduating from beauty school.

Growing our staff from entry level has given us the 300 staff members, two salons, and three schools that we have today. But most importantly, we still think of ourselves the same way that we did in 1975. Each experienced staff member is the teacher to the brand new assistant. Teamwork is born through this process. Loyalty to each other and our company and legendary customer service is the outcome we seek.

Staff members are promoted as they achieve education and customer service skills. Our menu of services reflect differences due to experience and education.


Education Philosophy

We never stop learning and continue to challenge ourselves with opportunities. Many of our staff members are sought after to teach other salons and schools across the country and abroad. Our goal is for the new assistant to learn from the Master Stylist. The passion of the new assistant brings the excitement of youth to the company and our guests.
